Pronunciation Lesson 6

In this 3-part lesson, we will be looking at:

Part 1

Living and leaving

Learners often have difficulty distinguishing between these two /i/ sounds. This means learners struggle to hear them but also to produce them. Here we look at some useful tips.

Part 2

A very short conversation – Really?

This lesson presents a pattern of intonation when asking short questions. You will hear many examples, will have a chance to practise and do some exercises, so prepare a pen and a paper!

Part 3

Two main kinds of questions

This lesson tackles the very difficult issue of onouncing questions in English. Again, we look at patterns that will help students avoid making mistakes in the future. You will receive plenty examples to ‘listen and repeat’ and you will learn about the difference between ‘up’ and ‘down’ intonation.
