Pronunciation Lesson 10

In this 3-part lesson, we will be looking at:

Part 1

Mix-up 2! More words that are often confused in pronunciation.

In this lesson we are going to have a look at more words that are often confused / mixed-up by learners of English. You will be challenged with a dictation exercise, so get ready!

You will also listen to some sentences with these words – a fun exercise to practise tongue twisters designed especially for you by Alan.

Don’t worry if the lesson is a bit fast, you can hit the pause button anytime, you can play it as many times as you like – there’s no limit, you can slow down the speed of the video and you can practise saying the words when nobody is listening in order to make it perfect!

For this lesson we recommend that you prepare a pen and a paper. You can also use your phone to record yourself and compare with the teacher.

Part 2

Correct with stress! Correcting wrong information by changing the stressed word.

This is the second lesson in this course that tackles correcting techniques. These skills are important for all learners because:

– you will gain more confidence and avoid making mistakes

– you will understand how to correct someone without being embarrased

– you will understand when and why someone is trying to correct you

And forever remember – Everyone makes mistakes, it’s OK.

For this lesson we recommend that you prepare a pen and a paper. You can also use your phone to record yourself and compare with the teacher.

Part 3

Up … and down. This? Or that?

This lesson will help you to sound more natural when talking about choices and preferences!

Do you like summer or winter? summer or winter?

These kind of questions are very common in everyday conversations and help us to get to know each other. Gain confidence in asking them! It will be so much easier to make new friends in English! If you practise well with Alan and even memorise those questions, meeting new people will become ‘a piece of cake’!

For this lesson we recommend that you prepare a pen and a paper. You can also use your phone to record yourself and compare with the teacher.

I could enjoy the exercise! Thank you. The difference of “won’t” and “want” was little bit difficult for me, so I’d like to practice it!
All of lesson were sooooo interesting! I like to study pronunciation!
